Diving offers a lifetime of exciting adventure and the ideal way to begin that adventure is with SSI's Open Water Diver course. Under the guidance of a professional SSI Instructor, you will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enjoy a lifetime of underwater exploration.

SSI's modular, six-session teaching system includes a video, manual, study guide, and dive tables. And with SSI's home study approach, you will be able to minimize your time in the classroom allowing for more time in the water developing ability and comfort.

With multiple pool and open water sessions, you will practice scuba skills with SSI's exclusive Comfort Through Repetition teaching method.

Complete orientation session and paperwork. Bring completed Study Guide Answer Sheet 1. Be prepared to discuss video and Study Guides.

Academics - Classroom

5:30 PM - 9:00 PM

You will be fitted for the SCUBA equipment you will be using in the pool. Bring completed Study Guide Answer Sheets 2 and 3. Be prepared to discuss video and Study Guides.

Pool Session #1

Sat Jul 15

7:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Meet at pool for confined water dives and skills development. Bring your SCUBA equipment, booties, swimsuit, drinking water, towel, and sunscreen.

Academics - Classroom

Sat Jul 15

12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Meet at Desert Divers West for academic sessions in classroom. Bring the SSI Dive Table and completed Study Guide Answer Sheets from Chapter 4, 5, and 6. Be prepared to discuss video and Study Guides.

Pool Session #2

Sun Jul 16

7:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Meet at pool for confined water dives and skills development. Bring your SCUBA equipment, booties, swimsuit, drinking water, towel, and sunscreen.

Final Exam - Classroom
