SSI and PADI Instructor
I started diving kelp beds off Southern California in 1966. I became a PADI instructor in 1997 and am currently certified as an instructor for both SSI and a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. I helped Kandie develop the Marine Animal Behavior class and received my degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with an emphasis in marine biology from the U of A. Underwater photography has become my passion.
I started in the Caribbean and am now migrating towards the South Pacific - Bonaire, Belize, Turks & Caicos, Puerto Rico, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Bikini Atoll, the majority of the islands in the Sea of Cortez and if you really like looking at a lot of sand with an occasional tire, you will enjoy Lake Mead.
I really enjoy sharing my love of being underwater with students. The most exciting thing for me is watching the students' progression both in the pool and in the ocean.
If I were part of the ocean I would like to be a shark, not because they are at the top of the food chain but because they make swimming look so effortless and graceful. I just wish I could move through the water as easily as they can.
